IT Infrastructure Engineer
Own how Tracegence runs in production: GCP infra, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, the CI/CD pipeline, and the cost and observability story that keeps it healthy.
About the role
Tracegence runs on Google Cloud. Cloud Run for the API, Cloud SQL (Postgres) for tenant data, Cloud CDN for the Angular bundle, Document AI and Vertex AI for the ML path, Cloud Scheduler for the cron tier. All of it is managed in Terraform and deployed through GitHub Actions via Workload Identity Federation. You'd own the layer below the application: keeping deploys boring, infra spend predictable, and the on-call surface small. That includes deciding when to flip Cloud SQL to HA, when Memorystore is worth the spend, and how we keep budget alerts honest as customers come online.
What you'll do
- Own the GCP footprint: Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud CDN, Secret Manager, IAM, networking
- Maintain Terraform modules and the prod / dev environments
- Improve the CI/CD pipeline - build, deploy, rollback, smoke tests
- Stand up Cloud SQL HA, Memorystore, Cloud Armor, and WAF rules as traffic justifies it
- Set up cost guardrails, budget alerts, and observability (logs, metrics, traces, Sentry)
- Respond to incidents and write the runbooks that prevent the next one
What we look for
- 3+ years running production infrastructure on GCP (or AWS with willingness to switch)
- Strong Terraform: you can read a module, refactor it, and know when to break it up
- Comfortable with Cloud Run or Kubernetes, managed Postgres, IAM, and DNS
- Have run a real CI/CD pipeline - GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or similar
- Comfortable being the person paged at 2am, and the person who makes sure that doesn't happen again
